Revelations 2.2 Launched - EVE Online

The latest update of EVE Online, Revelations 2.2 is now live! They've also posted a fix for players experiencing a client warning.

Revelations 2.2 was deployed and Tranquility is open for business. For patch feedback please visit this forum thread.

For those people having a problem with the client warning of modified, damaged or corrupt extra files in the /bin/ directory, please remove any extra files you find in this directory. This should resolve your issues. The list of the valid files for the /bin/ directory is linked below. If this did not resolve the issue, please file a bugreport including a crash dump, logserver file and dxdiag.

  • Download the bin.zip file.
  • Delete the bin folder (by default it is located at C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin)
  • Unzip the EVE_bin.zip to the client folder (by default it is C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\).

As a last resort you can reinstall the entire client. Make sure you never patch your Tranquility client with a test patch, even if it has the same build number as the Tranquility patch, as this may corrupt your client and result in a complete reinstall being necessary.

Bin folder contents can be found in this forum post. Should you have any further issues with the patch you are welcome to post in the feedback thread linked above, Devs are monitoring the thread and will do their best to assist you.

Guild Wars - PAX Wrap-up

The Folks over at Guild Wars have posted a wrap-up of their activities at PAX, including trivia questions and tournament results.

Congratulations to Steve Mesa, winner of our PAX sealed play tournament! This lucky player demonstrated skill and tenacity, taking home a fully decked out AlienWare gaming laptop, $1,000 in spending money, and a Logitech G9 laser mouse.

The tournament is entirely sealed play, with a total of 80 skills randomly assorted and distributed to players. Each player has 30 minutes to set up his or her character and three Heroes. In this time, players must devise a build from their sealed deck and then assign skills and equipment to themselves and their Heroes.

For your enjoyment, we've taken the sealed decks given to both Steve and his opponent, Matt, and listed them here. We also posted their skill choices. Would you have done the same thing?

Grab bag in Dark Age of Camelot

The Grab Bag returns this week to once again answer a myriad of miscellaneous questions from the Dark Age of Camelot community.

Q. I've killed Myrddraxis (Fomor Hydra) and got no remains nor have read ANYWHERE that he drops them. However, I still keep hearing that he drops them. So my question is does he actually drop remains and if so is it a random drop?

A. From the Bearded Wonder: There are no remains for Myrddraxis. Urban Legend. Seriously, Taxidermists have to draw the line somewhere, 1 head... okay. 5 heads? Sorry, no dice.

Q. Can/will you please officially state whether or not one is able to see an enemy player's torch if they have it on in an RvR area? Some people try to claim that two years ago there were patch notes saying that you are not supposed to be able to see enemy realm torches, but I know for a fact that you can since I see them all the time making people glow like a beacon, especially at night.

A. From the Keeper of the Devs: If a player has their torch on their face will be lit up to other players, regardless of realm. I must admit I can be found being yelled at by my group mates many a night. "Turn off your torch!" Gah...I hate running around in the dark.

Voyage Century - New Socket System

IGG announced that they has released new information on a system in Voyage Century Online where players can use their old armor and weapons and turn them into gems.

It's common for veteran Players in Voyage Century to have accumulated large quantities of armor, weapons and equipment which are of little use to the players. It has also been common for players to throw them away or sell t

hem at a low price to the system. With the coming of Voyage Century the latest version, a newly added socket system which enables Players to use these items to refine gems and enchase them onto jewelry is the solution to this problem.

Obtaining Gems

In the Voyage Century the latest version, a blacksmith NPC has been added into the game in the city of Seville. With his help, you can use your previously useless armor and weapons to produce gems. Of course, the level of gem depends on the level of the items you use. The higher the level your items are, the higher the possibility to produce rare gems will be. Furthermore, you may also obtain gems by defeating enemies.

Enchasing Gems

Gems can be enchased on jewelry. After enchasing them successfully, the gem will increase the attributes of the jewelry. On the contrary, if the enchasing failed, the attributes of the jewelry will decrease.
